May 5, 2001, Community Mediation, Inc. held its Annual Howard Nash Community Leadership Breakfast at the New Haven Lawn Club in honor of the most Reverend Bishop Peter Rosazza. Bishop Rosazza was a best friend of Father Nash and is a tireless community organizer and advocate of the disenfranchised, especially the Hispanic population. Bishop Rosazza retired in the summer of 2010 and will be moving out of New Haven in a few months. Over 100 people came to the event. Mayor DeStefano presented Bishop Rosazza with two honorary street signs – ‘Bishop Street’ and ‘Pope Street’. Rabbi Herbert Brockman and Reverend Bonita Grubbs ‘roasted’ the Bishop with memories from their connections with him.
Check out all the photos from the Nash Breakfast. We would like to thank all of the folks who came out to the event! It was a great success and raised both awareness and money to support CM’s mission. (Click the picture to see all the photos)
