In 1992, CM formally recognized the achievements of Robert Zampano, the late federal district judge who did so much to further the use of mediation by litigants in some of the state's largest disputes.  After that presentation, Judge Zampano agreed to lend his name and support to an annual award for excellence in mediation.  This award recognizes leadership, initiative and creativity in mediation in Connecticut.
