The City of New Haven
Community Mediation, Inc. (CM) works closely with the City of New Haven, especially the New Haven Department of Police Service (NHPD), to bring mediation services to more city residents and help implement community policing.

CM has had a contract with the NHPD since late 1999 to handle more police referrals, train New Haven Police Academy students, and work more closely with neighborhood management teams.

United Way of Greater New Haven
In 2001, Community Mediation, Inc. (CM) became a United Way agency and received funding to enable us to expand our Security Deposit Program.

CM is proud to be supported by the United Way of Greater New Haven, which has been operating in the New Haven area for more than 80 years and which provides funding for over 50 programs at 40 local health and human service agencies.

The Dispute Settlement Center, Inc.
The Dispute Settlement Center, Inc. is a non-profit organization committed to building peace, encouraging cooperation and fostering constructive conflict resolution among individuals, groups, and communities throughout Fairfield County.

Hartford Area Mediation Program
The Hartford Area Mediation Program (HAMP), which was founded in 1984 as a pro bono project of the Aetna Law Department, began operating as a program of the Community Partners In Action in November 1993. Funding for the program comes from the Court Support Services Division.

HAMP offers community mediation services to residents of Hartford and the surrounding area.

Pax Educare
Pax Educare links educational and community practitioners (pre-K through higher education, scholars, activists, religious and community groups) and institutions to materials, curricula, research and training in peace and copgnflict studies including: nonviolence; mediation; cultural, gender and other issues around diversity; human rights; and ecology and the environment.

National Association for Community Mediation
In 1994, CM's executive director and eleven other local community mediation leaders jointly incorporated the National Association for Community Mediation (NAFCM).

NAFCM gives volunteers and staff at community mediation centers across the country a national voice and identity to strengthen our local efforts.

NAFCM publishes a Membership Directory. The Directory describes 265 community mediation program members and six state mediation association members in 45 states and four foreign countries.

National Institute for Advanced Conflict Resolution

 National Institute for Advanced Conflict Resolution (NIACR) The National Institute for Advanced Conflict Resolution (NIACR) was founded for the purpose of advancing the field of conflict resolution in the United States, and promoting a greater understanding of the role of mediation in resolving disputes.  This website was created not only to provide an online resource for practicing mediators, but also to make available to the general public information about issues pertaining to mediation and conflict resolution.

New Haven Legal Assistance Association, Inc. (LAA)
New Haven Legal Assistance Association, Inc. (LAA) is a nonprofit organization that was incorporated on April 7, 1964 to "secure justice for and to protect the rights of those residents of New Haven County unable to engage legal counsel." LAA was one of the first legal services programs established and the federal government used it as a model for similar programs throughout the country. LAA continues to provide free legal services to eligible individuals and families in the greater New Haven area.

Everyday Democracy is dedicated to finding ways for all kinds of people to engage in dialogue and problem solving on critical social and political issues. ED helps communities by giving them the tools to organize productive dialogue, recruit diverse participants, find solutions, and work for action and change.
